The 9th edition of Generation After. Showcase will be held in Warsaw from 4 to 6 September 2025. Organised by Nowy Teatr since 2017, the showcase presents the latest developments on the Polish theatre and choreography scene to programmers and representatives of leading international theatre festivals and institutions. The event is co-organised by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.

Generation After Showcase – a review of the new Polish theatre and choreography scene 2025

“Where do borders begin? On the ground or in the mind? Who sets them, and who is allowed to cross them?” – these are the questions posed by the creators of this year’s edition of Generation After. Showcase. The programme features performances that address themes of tension, blurred boundaries, shifting identities and relationships, and the ever-changing line between “us” and “them”. Over three days, international guests will have the opportunity not only to experience the latest productions by a new generation of Polish theatre artists, but also to participate in networking sessions and a range of accompanying events.

Generation After. Showcase serves as a platform for intensive inter-institutional creative exchange and networking within the performing arts community, with a strong focus on international collaboration. Every year, representatives of festivals and institutions from more than twenty countries come to Warsaw for Generation After. Showcase. This year’s edition will host representatives from, among others: HELLERAU – European Centre for the Arts in Dresden, HAU Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin, Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, Wiener Festwochen, RISING: Melbourne, SPRING Performing Arts Festival in Utrecht, Odéon Théâtre de l’Europe in Paris, SAAL Biennaal in Tallinn, and Santarcangelo Festival.
