The works of four acclaimed Polish photographers – Zofia Rydet, Anna Beata Bohdziewicz, Teresa Gierzyńska and Aneta Grzeszykowska – will be presented at Northern Ireland’s foremost photography gallery, Belfast Exposed Gallery. The photographs will be presented across three exhibitions – “In Her Own Image”, “Gathering Time” and “Photo-Diary” – open to the public from 2 October to 20 December 2025.
The exhibition ‘The Amazing Land of Quarks, Elephants & Pierogi’ creates a fascinating story about the Polish language. The exposition combines book illustrations with various artistic forms – from embroidery, textiles and sculptures, to neon lights and video animations. Interactive experience based on artificial intelligence allows visitors to immerse themselves in the Polish language and Poland’s culture.
In October, a unique musical encounter will take place in the very centre of Osaka, where Polish and Japanese artists will perform together in a joint project at Namba Square. Mitch & Mitch, Kinga Głyk, Klawo, and Małe Instrumenty will join forces with the local experimental scene. At the same time, Sinfonia Varsovia will embark on a concert tour of Japan’s most important venues.
From 10 October, The Photographers’ Gallery in London will host “Sociological Record” exhibition, a photographic project by Polish artist Zofia Rydet. “Sociological Record” is a comprehensive documentation of everyday life in Polish homes, spanning different decades, regions, and customs. This monumental work is considered one of the most significant achievements of 20th-century Polish photography.
On 13 September 2025, the Golden Thread Gallery in Belfast will open the exhibition “Radical Hope”, featuring works by Hubert Czerepok, Zhanna Kadyrova, Diana Lelonek, Lada Nakonechna, Marina Naprushkina, Konrad Smoleński, and Piotr Uklański exploring whether art can serve as a guide in uncertain times. The exhibition is part of the ongoing UK/Poland Season 2025.
Visual artist and potter Alicja Patanowska, together with prominent contemporary Polish poster creators Ola Jasionowska, Patrycja Longawa, Kaja Renkas, and Maja Wolna, will present their works at the Victoria and Albert Museum – the world’s largest museum of applied art, craft, and design. The ceramic installation and overview of the contemporary Polish poster scene will be on display from 13 September 2025.
The international cultural programme of the Polish Presidency will culminate in a closing gala held on June 24 at Flagey in Brussels. The highlight of the evening will be the world premiere of Unity, a composition written especially for the occasion by Aleksander Dębicz, one of the most versatile Polish pianists and composers of the young generation.
