“Pieces of a Woman” – award-winning play by Kornél Mundruczó on the Irish stage for the first time

The play, directed by Kornél Mundruczó, created by TR Warszawa and based on a text by Katy Wéber, will be staged in Ireland for the first time. Its premiere performances will take place on 10 and 11 October 2025 at Dublin’s O’Reilly Theatre as part of this year’s Dublin Theatre Festival programme.

The feminist family drama, driven by the strength and determination of its female characters, is set in contemporary Warsaw. The family reunion focuses on the problems and internal conflicts of Polish society, as if seen through a lens. The main character is thirty-year-old Maja, who faces a personal tragedy. In order to overcome life’s challenges, she must question her entire past and rebuild relationships with her loved ones. Using cinematic means of expression, the play captivates with its intimate narrative, realism of detail, and the tenderness of the actors’ performances.
