The Adam Mickiewicz Institute invites you to submit project proposals that could be implemented in France as part of the Poland-France 2027 Season, which will take place in both countries throughout 2027.

The Season programme is being developed in partnership with the French Institute and the Polish Institute in Paris. We envision it as a space for vibrant collaboration between cultural communities, institutions, organisations, and creators from Poland and France.

We are looking for projects developed through a partnership-based model, built on shared commitment, collaborative work, and meaningful contributions from all partners whether curatorial, organisational, or financial.

We are particularly interested in initiatives that foster long-term relationships and generate impact beyond the duration of the Season itself. We welcome both new ideas and projects that build upon existing collaborations.

France–Poland Season 2027 / Saison Pologne–France 2027

Launching in the second half of February 2027, the Poland–France Season 2027 will mark a new chapter in cultural cooperation between the two countries. For the first time, a shared programme of events will be presented simultaneously in Poland and France, creating opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, and exchange among artists, cultural professionals, and audiences.

The initiative forms part of the renewed momentum in French-Polish relations following the signing of the Treaty of Nancy on 9 May 2025 and its entry into force on 22 January 2026. The Season highlights a shared commitment to building a strong, united, and resilient Europe based on fundamental freedoms, social cohesion, and the role of culture as a unifying force.

At a time marked by social polarisation and the fragmentation of public discourse, the Season seeks to create spaces for meaningful encounters and shared experiences. Through culture, it promotes dialogue, participation, and critical reflection, while strengthening a sense of community and civic engagement.

Young people will play a central role in the programme, as their perspectives and creativity are essential to Europe's future. At the same time, the Season aims to strengthen lasting relationships between artists, cultural institutions, and creative communities in both countries, encouraging long-term cooperation and co-creation.

The programme will be structured around four thematic areas:

Democratic Imagination and New Solidarity

The Season aims to demonstrate how culture contributes to strengthening democracy, improving the quality of public debate, supporting pluralism, and fostering dialogue between generations and diverse perspectives. Particular attention will be given to the role of young people in reimagining cultural participation, civic engagement, and the development of inclusive, accessible, and solidarity-driven cultural initiatives.

Europe as a Shared Space

The Season will invite reflection on Europe in all its diversity—through the lens of multiple identities, relationships between centres and peripheries, borders, heritage, and contemporary transformations. It will also explore how culture helps us think about European community, resilience, democratic security, and social cohesion in a world marked by uncertainty and geopolitical change.

Agency in the Age of Algorithms

In light of the transformations brought about by artificial intelligence and the growing influence of digital technologies, the Season seeks to place people, relationships, creativity, and critical thinking back at the centre of reflection. While embracing innovation and technological progress, it will focus on the impact of disinformation, the mechanisms of digital platforms, the ethical and artistic challenges posed by new technologies, and the conditions necessary to preserve freedom of choice and nurture creativity – particularly among younger generations.

Poland and France: Shared Heritage, Multiple Perspectives, Common Futures

The Season will create opportunities to revisit, deepen, and renew French-Polish relations through a shared intellectual, artistic, and humanistic heritage. It encourages the exploration of common references, cultural exchanges, and historical connections, while also creating space to reflect on differences in perception, stereotypes, and tensions that may have shaped the relationship between the two countries. By connecting heritage with contemporary creativity, the Season seeks to bring together artists, creators, thinkers, institutions, and societies from both nations.

Events will take place not only in major urban centres but also in smaller towns and regions across both countries, engaging local authorities, twin cities, cultural institutions, and civil society organisations. By connecting heritage with contemporary creativity and linking local initiatives with international partnerships, the Season aims to strengthen cultural ties and build lasting networks of cooperation.

More than a cultural programme, the Poland–France Season 2027 is a platform for collaboration, dialogue, and collective action – demonstrating how culture can contribute to a stronger, more cohesive, and more resilient Europe.

The France–Poland Season 2027 / Saison Pologne–France 2027 is jointly organised by the French Institute, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, and the Polish Institute in Paris. The Season is made possible through the support of the French Ministry of Culture, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
