US in Progress 2025 – Polish-American Producers Forum at the TAURON American Film Festival
The Polish-American Producers Forum US in Progress – the most important platform in Central Europe for cooperation between filmmakers from the United States and Europe – will, for the fifteenth time, bring together professionals from both sides of the Atlantic. From 4 to 8 November 2025, independent producers, directors, and festival programmers will meet in Warsaw and Wrocław to develop international film projects, seek co-producers, and jointly shape the future of independent cinema. The event accompanies the TAURON American Film Festival.
TAURON American Film Festival 2025 – a celebration of American cinema in Wrocław
The TAURON American Film Festival is a long-established event that has been presenting the non-commercial, artistic side of American cinema to Polish audiences for many years. Its mission is to challenge the stereotype of American films as purely light, mass entertainment, and to showcase the richness and diversity of cinema from across the Atlantic – from independent underground productions to ambitious Hollywood works. The 16th edition of the festival will take place from 6 to 11 November 2025 in Wrocław, with screenings hosted at the nine-screen Kino Nowe Horyzonty cinema, located in the city centre. Details are available at www.americanfilmfestival.pl.
The festival presents the most interesting works screened at the world’s leading film events, including Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Toronto, and Sundance. A distinctive feature of the programme is the inclusion of retrospectives, which allow audiences to rediscover overlooked artists and experience legendary films in restored digital versions. An integral part of the event is also the series of meetings between audiences and filmmakers – directors, producers, and actors – who take part in discussions, masterclasses, and debates. At the same time, the Polish-American Producers Forum US in Progress will take place, promoting collaboration between filmmakers from the United States and Europe.
The 15th edition of US in Progress – building bridges between filmmakers from the United States and Europe
The Polish-American Producers Forum US in Progress, which has been held annually for the past fourteen years, is an industry event designed to foster relationships and professional connections between representatives of the film industries in the United States and Europe, and to create opportunities for co-productions. The fifteenth edition of US in Progress will be held from 4 to 8 November 2025 in Warsaw and Wrocław. The programme will include panel discussions, partner presentations, and networking meetings with Polish producers and members of the National Chamber of Audiovisual Producers interested in collaboration with their American counterparts.
Its aim is to strengthen cooperation between independent filmmakers from the United States and representatives of the European and Polish film industries. Participants will have the opportunity to network with programmers from leading European film festivals and distributors. Event partners will award prizes in the form of post-production service packages. During closed screenings, excerpts from nine American feature films in the final stages of editing, selected from a record number of submissions, will be presented. This year’s line-up includes: “Mackenzie” directed by Mylissa Fitzsimmons, “Mother Wolf” directed by Suzi Yoonessi, “Night Nurse” directed by Georgia Bernstein, “Perfect” directed by Millicent Hailes, “Pocket Dream” directed by Julia Baylis and Sam Guest, “Ruby Road” directed by Talia Lugacy, “She Keeps Me Young” directed by Doron Max Hagay, “Take Me Home” directed by Liz Sargent, and “Unknownia” directed by Dash Shaw.
In 2025, the Polish-American Producers Forum US in Progress programme was organised with the support of the Polish Film Institute, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Province, the Wroclaw Film Commission – Lower Silesian Film Centre, and the Mazovia Warsaw Film Commission.
