RESIDENCIES
Artistic residencies for Polish artists, curators and designers are some of the most effective ways of building a network of contacts among artists and cultural institutions around the world. Thanks to numerous residencies, the presence of Polish artists is solidified abroad, international co-productions and artistic projects are created and the international flow of ideas and experiences is initiated.
The Institute works with numerous residency centres around the world, including Akademie Schloss Solitude and Gasworks, WebDance, Abrons Art Center, Southbank and other partners chosen as a result of study visits.
STUDY VISITS
Study visits are one of the Institute’s main areas of activity. They are tools that assist in strategic planning of projects and in the promotion of Polish culture in the world’s most important institutions. Thanks to visits organised by the Institute, outstanding representatives of world culture have visited Poland: directors of artistic festivals, promoters of culture, artists, critics, curators and journalists. Each year, in more than 100 study visits organised by the Institute, an average of more than 300 influential individuals and opinion leaders visit Poland.
The effect of this programme is a continuously growing base of practical knowledge about the cultural activities that are most interesting for audiences abroad. The invited guests have the opportunity to get to know contemporary Poland and its cultural offerings and to establish contacts that support the development of long-term collaboration with Polish artists and cultural institutions.
