UK/Poland Season 2025

The UK/Poland Season took place in 2025, spanning more than 40 cities and 551 events, thanks to the collaboration between the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the British Council, and the Polish Cultural Institute in London.

The aim of the Season was to strengthen relations and revitalise cultural exchange and cooperation between Poland and the United Kingdom in the fields of film, theatre, visual arts, classical, contemporary and jazz music, literature, and design. As part of the Season, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute organised a range of events across the UK that introduced contemporary Polish artistic practices to British audiences and strengthened the presence of Polish art in British museums, galleries, concert halls and theatres, as well as at selected music, photography and design festivals.

Dialogue, diversity, diaspora and digital – these four themes set the direction for the UK/Poland Season 2025. Emphasising the value of building understanding across borders, the Season celebrated the richness and diversity of both countries. For people in Poland and the UK, it offered a unique opportunity to discover the most compelling developments on the artistic scenes of both countries – from film, theatre and visual arts to design and music. Joint Polish-British projects and productions strengthened ties and inspired future generations to pursue new cultural initiatives together.

The British Council was responsible for organising events in Poland. The UK programme was delivered in close partnership between the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Polish Cultural Institute in London and the British Council, with strategic support from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the involvement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
