About the Institute

The Adam Mickiewicz Institute is a national culture institution whose aim is to initiate international cultural exchange.

The Institute was established in 2000 by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in consensus with the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Since 2012, the Institute is a member of the prestigious International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA), which brings together more than 400 culture sector leaders from around the globe. Before that, in 2011, the Institute received its ISO 9001:2008 certification.
