Young Polish composers to continue their collaboration with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Ensemble MusikFabrik.
Composer Karol Nepelski qualified for the London Philharmonic Orchestra Young Composers programme, while Jakub Krzewiński, Wojciech Błażejczyk and Szymon Stanisław Strzelec were invited by the famous German ensemble MusikFabrik to write new pieces for Harry Partch’s instruments as part of the Composer Collider project.
For the past few years, both workshop cycles have been co-organised by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute to enable Polish artists to collaborate with some of the best European performers of contemporary music, while also facilitating their international debuts, as the Composer Collider and LPO Young Composers Scheme conclude with premiere performances of new Polish compositions.
The upcoming edition of the workshop held by the London Philharmonic Orchestra is due to commence on 5 October, followed by the inauguration of the Composer Collider programme on 27 October. The premiere performances of pieces composed by Jakub Krzewiński, Wojciech Błażejczyk, Szymon Stanisław Strzelec and Karol Nepelski will take place in February and July 2018, respectively.
