Project Asia

Project Asia aims to increase the presence of Polish culture in Asian countries, especially in China, the Korean Republic and Japan. The following projects have taken place within its framework so far: Polish Cultural Days in China (2010), the cultural component of Polish participation in the Shanghai World EXPO 2010, the Cultural Programme of the Polish Presidency in Beijing and Tokyo (2011), and Korean Focus (2012). In 2013 we began to be present in the area thanks to a tour of the Lutosławski Quartet (Hong Kong, Korea,China, Singapore), Zakopower and Cracovia Danza at the Meet Festival in Beijing , and an extensive program of contemporary dance at the Festival Beijing  Fringe, among others. In Hong Kong, Teatr Dramatyczny presented Krystian Lupa’s play "Persona. Marilyn", and “Crime” of Teatr Polski in Bielsko – Biała directed by Ewelina Marciniak, was presented at the Seoul Performing Arts Festival in Korea. Thanks to our efforts, Polish jazz artists Anna Maria Jopek, Maciej Obara, Marcin Masecki and Pink Freud performed on the stages of the Jarasum International Jazz Festival in Korea, the Tokyo Jazz Festival and the Festival of New Polish Music in Japan. Project Asia also showcased Polish culture in Hong Kong , Singapore, Burma, India and Taiwan. For more information, please visit :
