The Adam Mickiewicz Institute invites young Polish jazz musicians to apply for Summer Session 2025 – a prestigious international residency programme held in Humlebæk, Denmark. Registration is now open. Applications will be accepted until Thursday, 12 June 2025, via the online form.
A Week of Jazz Music Workshops
Summer Session is an intensive week of music workshops, led by some of the most outstanding jazz artists from around the world. This year’s mentors included Arooj Aftab, Luques Curtis, María Grand, Julia Hülsmann, Nasheet Waits, Elena Pinderhughes, and Gilad Hekselman. In previous editions, the mentor was Tomasz Stańko, the renowned Polish jazz trumpeter, who led workshops in 2013 and 2015. One of the outcomes of those sessions was the formation of the Scandinavian Art Ensemble, featuring Polish musicians Tomasz Dąbrowski, Artur Tuźnik, and Radek Wośko — who continue to perform across Europe, including as part of the cultural programme accompanying the Polish Presidency of the EU Council.
Summer Session is aimed at professional jazz musicians from Denmark and abroad. This year, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute is supporting the organisation of the event for the first time, enabling two participants from Poland – selected through an open call – to take part in Summer Session 2025. The Institute will cover all costs related to their participation, including travel to Denmark, accommodation, meals, and full tuition for the duration of the programme.
