The third edition of the Ignacy Paderewski Competition in Madrid will take place on 7 and 8 December 2024 at the Madrid Royal Conservatory. Its objective is to popularise Polish music among young Spanish instrumentalists. Adam Mickiewicz Institute supports the event.
Works by Polish composers performed by young Spanish artists
Persons aged 8-26, holding a Spanish citizenship or living in Spain, and wishing to become familiar with a rich repertoire of Polish composers have been invited to the third edition of the Ignacy Paderewski Competition in Madrid. Participants can register as soloists or bands of 2 to 6 members. Competitors were divided into three age groups. Each performance must be between six and fifteen minutes long and must comprise works by Polish composers only, thus referring to the rich heritage of Polish classical music.
This year’s jury will include distinguished musicians, among others Prof. Michał Dmochowski, Cecilia García, Cecilia Monserrat, Sara Dragan, Paweł Mazur and Andrés Salado. Owing to the partnership with the Spanish Embassy in Warsaw, the third edition of the competition boasts a special prize to be awarded to the laureates: they will be invited to participate in concerts in Poland, which will be performed at higher music schools and renowned festivals. It is a unique opportunity for young talents from Spain to broaden their artistic horizons.
