The Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art and Adam Mickiewicz Institute are pleased to announce shortlists as part of the open call for residencies of the Solitude Exchange Network. From among the names on the shortlists, hosts in Stuttgart, Bucharest, and Belgrade will select Residents who will visit them in the second part of the year to put creative projects into being.
The Solitude Exchange Network is addressed to artists interested in transdisciplinary approach. In 2025, three artistic residencies are offered to Polish artists: at Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart (Germany), ARC Bucharest (Romania), and Station Service for Contemporary Dance in Belgrade (Serbia).
In February, Polish artists were invited to file applications. From among the sent applications, curators and representatives of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art have picked proposals that will be presented to host teams. A resident will be selected by a curatorial jury of the host based on the evaluation of applications and portfolios of participants.

Organisers of artistic residencies:
The Adam Mickiewicz Institute (AMI) brings Polish culture to people around the world. Being a state institution, we create lasting interest in Polish culture and art through strengthening the presence of Polish artists on the global stage. We initiate innovative projects, support international cooperation and cultural exchanges. We promote the work of both established and promising artists, showing the diversity and richness of our culture. It is also responsible for the Culture.pl website, which is a comprehensive source of knowledge about Polish culture. Culture.pl is the largest and most comprehensive source of knowledge about Polish culture, run by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute. It provides reliable information on the most important phenomena and trends in culture as well as events organised in Poland and abroad. Here you will find profiles of female and male artists, reviews, essays and expert analyses that portray the richness of Polish art. It is published in eight languages, zooming in on the Polish contribution to the world’s culture and humanist heritage.
The programme of artistic residencies of the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art is addressed to artists from different disciplines as well as curators from around the world visiting Poland. It supports guests in executing artistic projects and encourages them to start experimenting in the fields of art of their choice. It understands residencies as a medium for artistic activities that allow searching for presentation models other than exhibitions. It conducts research projects focused on city-mapping, engaging local communities, and supporting exchange of knowledge. It promotes the idea of mobility in Poland and in the broadly understood Eastern Europe. More at u-jazdowski.pl.
