On 18 June 2025 at 9:30 pm, Antonina Nowacka will perform at the water sculpture “I Bagni Misteriosi” in Parco Sempione, Milan. Accompanied by flute and harp, the artist will present a sound bath inspired by the theme of the Polish Pavilion exhibition at the 24th Milan Triennale, “Short Holidays”. The event is organised by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
I Bagni Misteriosi – From Mysterious Baths to Short Holidays
Composer Antonina Nowacka’s concert will take place beside I Bagni Misteriosi – a water sculpture by Giorgio de Chirico, created for the 15th Triennale Milano International Exhibition in 1973. The motif of “I Bagni Misteriosi” runs throughout de Chirico’s body of work as a symbolic memory of his childhood by the sea in Volos, Greece. The first version was created in 1934 and consisted of lithographs accompanied by poems by Jean Cocteau, depicting beach huts as mysterious, transformative spaces.

This sculpture inspired this year’s Polish Pavilion and the exhibition “Short Holidays”, which explores the themes of regeneration, imagination, hygiene, and inclusive care. The pavilion features a day bed, a sound bath, a fragrance, and a model illustrating the story of human and ecosystem regeneration. You can read more about the exhibition at iam.pl.
Sound Bath composed by Antonina Nowacka
Sound bath, composed by Antonina Nowacka, is sensual and atmospheric, immersive and pleasurable, both psychedelic and relaxing.
“It’s like my voice, but with more air” – Nowacka explains. – “It evokes the experience of rest, as if another instrument were resonating in space. Even a few simple vibraphone tones can resonate deeply within the listener”.
Antonina Nowacka is a Polish composer and sound artist, known for her immersive works that promote deep rest and even physical pleasure. During the performance, she will be joined by harpist Anna Pasic and flautist Magdalena Gajdzica. The programme is based on her album “Syphine Soporifera”, which premiered at the Unsound Festival in Krakow in 2024. Although the piece continues to evolve, it remains rooted in an abstract, meditative mood.
